Status: Main Release - 2.2 Releasedate: 07/01/2005 (01.07.2005) Update eligibility:

  • Free for customers with version 2.1 or pre-version of 2.2.
  • All other versions only with update subscription.

 

Changes within the application

CTI Data Connector application 

  • Caller lists are more often refreshed
  • If CDC is installed on a server to format phone numbers then a licence for the server process is no longer needed
  • If you click on the phone symbol within the Fade In window, then the call is answered. This function is now available in all versions
  • Icon, right mouse click - new option Licence Viewer to display the licence information

Logic to handle phone numbers

  • The logic to handle phone numbers is now country specific. The settings like country region and area code are now retrieved from the control panel
  • If a phone number is stored multiple times it can be defined how this is handled (Option: suppress multiple hits due to identical phone numbers)
  • It can be defined how many digits of a phone number are truncated. The default value is 4 (Option: caller identification - truncate number of digits)
  • Own caller identification logic for USA
  • Own caller identification logic for Germany - (see below Outlook)

Configuration settings

  • New Option identification - truncate number of digits - see logic to handle phone numbers
  • New Option: suppress multiple hits due to identical phone numbers - see logic to handle phone
  • The maximum number of entries within the caller lists was increased from 50 to 500

Outlook

  • The is a new option within the Configuration Wizard Show Outlook Contacts. If a caller has been identified, the Outlook contact is opened after clicking on the Fade In window
  • A number with the format +49 (07525) 1545 - 23 is identified although the format is wrong - correct format would be +49 (7525) 1545 - 23. This special correction works only when the country setting is Germany
  • If multiple contact folders within an Exchange environment is used, the formatting of the phone number is optimised

Registration

  • CDC has to be registered online. It is checked if the license file was already used and software copy protection is activated

TAPI Driver

  • Workaround for errors in the TAPI driver. Drivers which first deliver empty characters instead of the phone number and then deliver the phone number with a delay will work
  • If a TAPI driver sends special characters within the phone number these special characters are filtered
  • Support for Cisco Call Manager and Avaya

English Version

  • Complete revised translation including the use of country specific formats with date and time

Bugfix

  • The database password is now encrypted

 

Installation

  • Single user installation - only a single start is necessary (no server installation) and only 1 entry for deinstallation is created
  • Server installation - new functionality to allow an automated setup with default values for each client - see folder ..\tools
  • Completely revised version to simplify the formatting of the phone numbers on the server side  - SETUPSERVER.EXE
  • Within the programme manager group there is a direct link to the Knowledge Base
  • The license file is preserved when CDC is installed multiple times

 

CTI Data Connector - Integration Development Kit

  • New ActiveX interface with a lot of possibilities to manage a call. This is an interesting feature if an advanced call handling is required
  • It can be defined with SaveJobOnlyOnce and SaveCallOnlyOnce whether all events or only one event is passed to the main application. This allows to simplify the caller handling when only the information is required, that a call is coming in (no information about the status ringing, picked up, on hold, terminated is used)
  • New fields within CDCJOBS.XML file - OwnerTel, RedirectingID and RedirectionID - it can be retrieved which phone number and which extension was called

cdc.xml file <node Main>

  • SaveJobOnlyOnce - defines whether all call events are passed via the cdccalls.xml file or only one event
  • SaveCallOnlyOnce - defines if each save event create a new entry in the cdcjobs.xml file or if a save event is signalled only once

<node Setup>

  • FindLikeChecks - defines how many numbers are truncated when a direct hit of the phone number can not be found
  • ListEntries - the value for the maximum number of entries in the dialling list can now be set to 500
  • OutlookContact - opens the Outlook contact folder after caller identification
  • SuppMultiHits - defines the reaction for caller identification if one phone number is stored multiple times

<node Externals>

  • External programmes can be loaded - previous the start of CDC, previous the formating of phone numbers, whithin the menu Extra and other events. Everything is defined within the node <EXTERNAL>
