The Activation Server is an out of the box solution to activate a product and to change license information online. The Multimedia Player connects to the Activation Server and performs the following operations:

• Activate copy protection
• Change a license, e.g. from demo mode to full version mode
• Verify Serial Numbers and Activation Keys

The Activation Server ensures that each licence can be registered only once. Every transaction is logged to a database (database licence not included). Optionally, keys can be transmitted to the Activation Server. It is checked, whether the key was already used or not. This is to ensure that the key can not be passed on and used multiple times.The Activation Server also supports:

• Automated E-Mail activation with the E-Mail Activator Service
• Product reinstallation / reactivation on the same machine

The server comes with a Browser based administration interface, which covers reports, view details like IP and hardware Ids of an activation as well as the option to create keys.

With the Premium Edition, the Activation Server is provided as a Hosting Service which requires no investments in hard- and software. Just sign up for the service.

The Activation Server is included in the Enterprise Edition. When installed on an own server, there are no additional fees for the product activations.
