FAQ: Software Development Environments - Operation Systems

Which Operating Systems are supported by Licence Protector?

Licence Protector is deeply hooked in the Windows System and uses DLL calls. It runs on

Windows NT to Windows 7, 32 and 64bit

including Windows 2008 Server

but not on Unix/Linux or other OS-Systems (including Win CE, iPhone, iPad).

The file server however can have a different OS-System when the access to the file server is done via a file service software like Samba.

In this case, the Licence Protector files are stored on the file server and Licence Protector is running on the local Windows Workstation.

The main criteria for Licence Protector is therefore the OS System where Licence Protector is running (normally the workstation).

MAC with Intel processor can run Windows. Licence Protector runs on a MAC in a Windows session using Bootcamp, Parallels or VMware.
