Licence Protector offers a wide variety for licensing. You can use an unlimted number of modules (starting with Basic Edition) within one license file and combine all module types. A typical license file for an ERP System could be
Every module type (see below) has its own licencing information:
Yes / No module. This is the standard module type for testing whether a module is available or not
Number of users - each user needs a license. The Windows user name or the name of a user within an application can be used. The license is assigned to the user when the application is installed - Icon ![]()
Number of machines/computers - each PC needs a license. The host name of the machine is used for verification. This license is also called license per seat. The license is assigned to the machine when the application is installed - Icon ![]()
Number of concurrent users (floating license) - the license is assigned only as long as the application is running. When the application is terminated, the license is available again - Icon
Note: Licence Protector offers a sophisticated verification of concurrent licenses. Machines that hang or crashed applications are detected and the license is released. There is no active service on the server necessary. The verification is done automatically through the DLL - for more technical information browse the Knowledge Base.
Number of items - each item listed needs a license. This feature enables an application to count nearly everything like number of reports, clients, specific hardware and any item you can identify within your application - Icon ![]()
Counter Module - this module offers a counter which can be modified by your application. If can be used for multiple purposes - e.g. for storing a release number or for counting how often the application was started
